Kevin, a self-described TF2 addict, averages a few hours in-game each day. Wanting to do something other than just play TF2 for hours without any true benefit, he decided he would stream a marathon of his beloved game after receiving inspiration from the great folks over at The Marathon Man and Mariothon, CO. The idea of a 24 hour marathon of a video game seems silly. That's because it is silly. Kevin is a very silly guy. Seeing as he is raising money for St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, we can let him off the hook.
In June, 2012, TF2-24 raised over $600 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, $100 over our goal! In June 2013, we raised over $1,000 for the kids at St. Jude! It was a crazy fun time, and we decided to up the ante by plopping another hour on top of that, making it TF2-25.
St. Jude is known primarily for their roll in the fight against childhood cancer. The first year, I knew no one in the TF2 community, and I did the marathon essentially by myself with some online friends. The second year, I streamed on KritzKast's channel (http://www.kritzkast.com/kritzkast-224-hello-kevin-and-goodbye-beta). That year was a whole lot of work. The event was very successful, but the prep-work took several months (mainly my fault). In 2014, I hope the community will help me (and the kids at St. Jude) out by donating some money towards an awesome charity!
